Women and jackets… a complicated relationship ! Traditionally, most women’s jackets differ widely from their male counterparts as they are usually both cut and constructed differently – too short, too boxy, often with strange proportions, too many buttons and non-functional pockets. Whilst some legendary designers managed to translate the allure of a tailor-made men’s jacket into womenswear, a well cut, well constructed woman’s jacket remains until today the exception rather than the norm!

Needless to say, Alexander Kraft has set his eyes on changing this state of affairs. His aim is to create jackets for women that are derived from either the Anglo-American or the Italian tradition. This jacket is from the Italian school of tailoring.

Its most remarkable feature is its completely unconstructed composition, without any stiff parts such as shoulder pads or any interior lining. In fact, it is completely unlined and has been cut inspired by classic tailoring, with a slim silhouette and high armholes. As a result, it creates a highly flattering figure while providing the comfort and ease of wear of a cardigan.

It has been crafted by a family – owned workshop in Tuscany from a wool mix of medium weight, making it possible to wear almost year round.

This version comes in an elegant shade of dark navy. It can be worn for many different occasions, with a top or T-shirt and jeans for a super casual yet chic look at home or on the go, with a shirt and tailored trousers for a busy day in town, with a skirt, a long sleeved top or a cashmere sweater for a day at the office, or with a short skirt and slim top for a sleek, sexy yet classy look for a night out.
